UGADI (Yugadi) is celebrated as the first day of New Year in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka. It falls on the first day of Chaitra month of Saka calendar. It is known as Gudhi Padwa in Maharashtra. Both Cologne Telugu Vedika e. V. and Frankfurt Telugu Velugu e. V. celebrated the festival with great enthusiasm and festivities. Various cultural program were performed both in Cologne and Frankfurt.

All officials of CGI Frankfurt attended the inauguration ceremony of 10th edition of Def Expo-2018 in Chennai by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi by video conferencing on 12th April, 2018. On the occasion Hon'ble PM also launched the IDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence), a portal for startups to deal with the defence production department

Consul General had an interesting round of an interview on 12th April 2018 with Mr. Frank Weimer (editor) Höchster Kreisblatt, Mr. Mathias Knap (photographer & team member). During her interview, CG spoke about the fast-growing Indo-German bilateral as well as multilateral relations. She also discussed her wonderful experiences with the German community ever since she has joined the office in Frankfurt.

Consul General visited Ordnungsamt, Stadt Frankfurt am Main on 13th April 2018 and met Mr. Jörg Bannach (Head, Ordnungsamt, Frankfurt am Main) & Mr. Christian Stark (Service-Center Veranstaltungen). CGI Frankfurt has been actively organizing Cultural and Commercial events in and around Frankfurt which require approvals the City authorities.

The other Chief Guests of the event were Mr. Andreas Wolter, Mayor of Cologne City, Prof.Em. Dr. Dieter Kapp - President, DIG Köln Bonn and Ms Ruth Heap, DIG Cologne. She also met Presidents of other Indian Associations from Cologne area who participated in the event, viz. Mr. Hafiz from IAB, Mr. Damandeep Singh from Sikh Association, Mr. Sivakumar Kota, Mr.Praveen Surapareddy from Cologne Telugu Vedika, Mr. Prakash, Sneham Bonn and Mr. Dnyaneshwar Kapote from India Students Association Bonn-Cologne.
