To mark the 65th Republic Day of India, a flag hoisting ceremony was organized at the Consulate General of India in Frankfurt on Sunday, January 26, 2014.  

The Consul General of India, Mr. Raveesh Kumar, unfurled the national tricolor, after which the national anthem of the country was sung by members of the Indian community present on the occasion. This was followed by singing of patriotic songs by a group of Indian children.   

The function was attended by a large gathering of the local Indian community, consisting of members of various Indian associations, the India Business Forum and friends of India. In addition, officials of Indian Public sector undertakings such as the State Bank of India, Air India and Government of India Tourist Office, besides the officials from the Consulate, were also present. 

A reception to mark the occasion is being held on Monday, January 27, 2014, which will be attended by a gathering of more than 300 persons from the diplomatic corps, dignitaries from the four States falling under the jurisdiction of the Indian Consulate in Frankfurt, officials from other Government and business organizations, members of Indian Diaspora, India Business Forum, Indian associations and other friends of India.

Over 150 people participated at the Republic Day celebrations organized by the Consulate on January 26, 2014.
