    1. Know India Programme (KIP) of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) is a three-week orientation programme for Diaspora youth conducted with a view to promote awareness about different facets of life in India and the progress made by the country in various fields e.g. economic, industrial, education, science & technology, communication & IT, culture.  It provides a forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to visit India, share their views, expectations and experiences and develop closer bonds with contemporary India.

    2. The 28th & 29th Know India Programmes (KIPs) are proposed to be organised by the MOIA for 40 participants to be selected from counties across the world. The tentative schedules are as per details stated below:

    3.Guidelines and application form for these programmes may be accessed on MOIA website (www.moia.gov.in). Details of these programmes would also be available on the website of the Ministry i.e. http://moia.gov.in.

    4. The following may be noted in this regard:

    This programme is open only for Diaspora youth in the age group of 18-26 years who have links with India through parentage.  NRIs are not eligible to apply for this programme.

    It is open to all PIOs in the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Frankfurt.

    Nominations are required to be sent to the Consulate General of India Frankfurt as they would have to be recommended by the Consul General.  Nominations may be sent in original by post/courier latest by 30th March 2014 for the 28th KIP and by 30th June 2014 for the 29th KIP as they have to be sent to the Ministry so as to reach before the prescribed last dates.  Please email to consular@cgifrankfurt.de for any queries in this regard.

    Selected participants would be required to purchase air ticket for their journey from the country of residence to India and back, as per the schedule prescribed by the Ministry.  CGI Frankfurt would reimburse 90% (ninety percent) of the total cost of air ticket (at lowest economy excursion fare) to the participants on successful completion of the programme by them.
