'' I will be in Germany from 12th to 14th April. The anchor of my visit will be participation in the Hannover Industrial Trade Fair in Germany, which will start with an inauguration ceremony on 12th April.

Hannover Trade Fair is the largest industrial trade fair in the world, which attracted over 5000 exhibitors and 180,000 business visitors from around the world in 2014. India is the partner country at the Hannover Trade Fair this year. This gives India a special place in the trade fair and a high visibility to our business sector.

As is customary, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and I will jointly inaugurate the Trade Fair. Although India has been the partner country in the past, India's participation in the Hannover Industrial Trade Fair will be on an unprecedented scale. We will not only showcase our opportunities and capabilities in the economic sector, we will also use the occasion to project our rich heritage to the world, which, in turn, will also benefit our tourism sector.

Germany is an industrial power house of the world, known for high quality, efficiency and durability of its products. I intend to use my visit to substantially raise the level of German investments in India, especially in the manufacturing sector, skill development and clean energy.

I will also have extensive talks with Chancellor both in Hannover and in Berlin. Germany is the economic leader in European Union, which is the largest economic grouping in the world and our largest economic partner. I would seek Germany's support in expanding our exports to European Union and attracting higher level investments from there.''
