    On 19 June, Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar, accompanied by Consul PPIC, Ms. Soni Dahiya, Mr. Kerry Reddington, Deputy Chairman, Foreigners Advisory Council for the City of Frankfurt am Main and the members of the Indian community living/working in Bad Homburg met the Lord Mayor of Bad Homburg, Mr. Alexander Hetjes (CDU).

    Consul (Economic & Commercial) and Head of Chancery, CGI Frankfurt Mr. Prem Singh Chauhan visited and interacted with IHK Darmstadt, Darmstadt Chamber of Commerce & Industry and discussed the ares of cooperation between the Consulate and the Chamber especially in the sectors of pharma, R&D and automative components.

    The Commercial Team led by Mr. Chauhan also visited the headquarters of HUMAN Diagnostics Worldwide in Wiesbaden and interacted with the Management on the global diagnostics market and Human's presence and future plans in the Indian market.

    Consul General, Ms. Pratibha Parkar today met the most acclaimed Indian violinist, composer and conductor, Pandit Dr. Lakshminarayana Subramaniam. He is trained in the classical Carnatic music tradition and Western classical music and is renowned for his virtuoso playing techniques and compositions in orchestral fusion.

    Peace Ambassador Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji was welcomed by Minister President, State of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany Mr. Armin Laschet on the occasion of the #worldrefugeeday at the State Chancellery (Staatskanzlei des Landes NRW) in Düsseldorf, Germany on 20th June. Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar also addressed the gathering. She spoke about the importance of Yoga, meditation and Indian philosophy in the modern times and the role played by Sri Sri Ravishankar in bringing peace and conflict resolution through meditation. The focus of the meeting was interaction with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on topics and challenges of modern times. Minister President Mr. Laschet in his statement mentioned: "North Rhine-Westphalia appreciates the contribution of all religions to peaceful coexistence, to social commitment and to the cohesion of society.

    The members of Indian community living in and around Frankfurt Rhein Main region along with Consul (PPIC), Ms. Soni Dahiya and Mr. Kerry Reddington, (Chairman, Municipal Foreigners Representation of the City of Frankfurt am Main (KAV) met Mr. Norbert Euler, Head of department for Foreigners Affairs, Frankfurt and also briefly met Mr. Jörg Bannach, Head of Frankfurt Ordnungsamt (Public order office). The agenda of the meeting was to discuss various consular matters pertaining to Indians who are living in and around Frankfurt. During the meeting possibilities were also explored how Indian community members can extend their support to the Frankfurt authorities for better coordination and mutual understanding between the two.

    The Consulate General of India organised a Roadshow in collaboration with Vibrant Tamil Nadu to promote the Global Expo & Summit, Food Edition in August in India. CG Ms. Pratibha Parkar welcomed the delegates from the Vibrant Tamil Nadu Team as well as the participants for the roadshow and spoke about the consistent and robust Indo-German trade and the growing importance of the food processing industry in India owing to the rising domestic & global demand.

    CG Ms. Pratibha Parkar along with the members of Indian community from the city of Cologne met the Lord Mayor of Cologne Ms. Henriette Reker and the Deputy Director, Head of International Business, Development Dept. city of Cologne Mr. Michael Josipovic M.A and discussed several issues relevant to the Indians living in the city. The Lord Mayor expressed her great love and respect for India and Indian culture/cuisine. During the meeting possibilities were also explored on both sides to promote intercultural and trade activities.

    CGI Frankfurt organised an intensive round of interaction and discussion on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar welcomed the participants and spoke about the acute relevance of the law, especially for every average Internet user. Expert insights on the law and its implications on small and big businesses, not for profit organisations by Vice President (Germany & Austria), Tata Consultancy Services, Mr. Sapthagiri Chapalapalli at CGI Frankfurt.

    Consul General, Ms. Pratibha Parkar visited Heppenheim, the seat of Bergstraße district in Hesse and met Dr. Mathias Zuerker, CEO Bergstrasse Economic Development Agency, Ms. Dina Schilling, Head of Regional Marketing/Investor Service & Indo-German Film Agency, Mr. Christian Engelhardt, the District Administrator of Bergstrasse County and Mr. Ulrich Obermayr, the former Mayor of Heppenheim. During her visit CG discussed ways to expand cooperation in economic/culture sectors and Indian Film Industry with the town.
