    A day before the 5th IDY to be organized at Roncalli Platz, Cologne, a curtain raiser event was organized at the Consulate. Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar welcomed the world renowned Ayurveda doctor and Yoga practicioner, Dr. Shri Balaji Tambe at her office. Dr.Tambe, gave a lecture on Achieving success through body and mind. During the Session simple Yoga practices were demonstrated. Ms. Parkar thanked Dr. Tambe for his motivational address. Members from Indo-German Diaspora attended the event with great enthusiasm.

    The 5th International Day of Yoga IDY2019 was organised on 15th June in front of the historic Cologne Cathedral at Roncalli Platz by the Consulate General of India in Frankfurt along with the support of the city of Cologne and Yoga partners. People of several nationalities joined the Consulate in celebration of this event held in front of the beautiful Cologne cathedral.

    To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of World Environment Day, the Consulate & the City of Sulzbach organized Tree Plantation in front of the Town Hall Rathaus. Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar and Dep. Mayor of Sulzbach Mr. Gerhard Schöffel together planted a beautiful Christmas Tree- A symbol of Indo-German friendship. The Kids from the kindergarten from Sulzbach sang songs on the occasion.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar delivered a speech on the occasion of 'Bihar Mahotsav 2019', which was organised on 15th June in Frankfurt by 'Bihar Fraternity'. She praised the efforts of Bihar Fraternity and invited the Association to join with CGI Frankfurt for IndienFest. Consul General also felicitated some of the achievers from Bihar in Germany. Mr. Rahul Kumar, City Councilor of Kelsterbach as Guest of Honor and other guests were also presented with Madhubani paintings. People of Bihar origin from across Europe attended the event.

    The Consulate screened three short films produced by the famous Indian actor and psychiatrist Dr. Mohan Agashe. The films, ´Reunion´, ´Purana Pyaar´ and ´It is different´ were screened. Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar felicitated Dr. Agashe on the occasion. Dr. Agashe has won Padma Shri, Sahitya Akademi Award, Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Goethe Medal, Thespo Lifetime Achievement Award and more.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar visited the Indology department of Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz where an event was organised in the sidelines of 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. There was a programme in her honour too. She addressed the gathering on the occasion and spoke about stronger cooperation of the university with India. Prof. Dr. Almuth Degener. Deputy Director of Indology Department, and the main organiser of the event welcomed the Consul General and felicitated her. Ms. Parkar presented Prof. Degener some Indian books for the Indology department. She also met the Indian students and German students studying Indology.

    The 5th International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 19th June in Frankfurt, at the beautiful and artistic Walther von Cronberg Platz, flanked by Lindner Main Plaza and a sparkling fountain, organised by Consulate General of India in Frankfurt. Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar inaugurated the event with lamp lighting along with some honorable guests for the event.There was a beautifully chalked out programme for the yoga enthusiasts who grabbed their mats and got started to enjoy yoga and its benefits and getting inspired to follow it in their daily life. People participated in IDY 2019 in large numbers.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar addressed the gathering at the celebration of 5th anniversary of Balagokulam Frankfurt 'BALA BHARAT DIWAS' which saw the participation of artists. Around 300+ Children of Indian origin children living in Germany took part in 35 Programmes. There were classical and folkdances, ndianmusic , one Mime and 4 Skits too from Indianculture, history and Indianheritage. There was an art exhibition too where they showcased their artwork apart from book and handicrafts stalls. More than 100 volunteers and 1200 visitors helped to make the programme a grand success!

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar delivered the welcome address at the 10th India Day: das Unternehmerforum organised by Maier+Vidorno Pvt. Ltd., Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft and Sparkassen-Finanzportal GmbH in Cologne. CG stressed upon the robust India Germany economic relations, especially in the light of the stable government post Elections.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar inaugurated the India Pavillion at METEC in Düsseldorf. METEC is where the world’s leading experts meet at the international trade fair for metallurgy, steel casting and steel production. The Trade Fair takes place every four years and therefore is an important platform for manufacturers and traders in the Metal & Steel Industry.
