    A lecture session by Shri. Ramesh Shah on 'Sewa in Rural Education and sustainable Rural communities', was organised on 27th May at the Consulate premises.Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar welcomed and appreciated Shri Shah for his work and wished him good luck in establishing more schools for the rural development.Shri. Ramesh Shah is a Founding Director and Global Coordinator of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation USA. He delivered a presentation on the mission of Ekal Vidhyalafor which includes attracting children to prepare them for formal education, computer literacy, skilled development of women and make villages self reliant.

    As part of the India meets FrankfurtRheinMain: Let's talk business' series, CGI Frankfurt in cooperation with Hessen Wirtschaftsministerium, IHK Frankfurt am Main, Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt GmbH, FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH, CG Ms. Pratibha Parkar and members from the Indo-German business and political community participated in the Plenary session at the Hessian State Parliament followed by an active session of Interaction with Members of Parliament representing the Fractions CDU, BÃ_x009c_NDNIS 90/DIE GRÃ_x009c_NEN, DIE LINKE, FDP, SPD & AfD. The participants were welcomed and greeted by President of the Hessian State Parliament Mr. Boris Rhein during the plenary session. Around 45 guests participated in this event.

    The India Pavilion at the IMEX Trade Fair was officially inaugurated by Consul General, Ms. Pratibha Parkar by a ribbon cutting ceremony. The inauguration ceremony was followed by a tour of the fair in the course of which Consul General and Consul (PIC) and Head of Chancery Mr. Prem Singh Chauhan interacted with some of the Indian exhibitors. IMEX is a worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events that takes place annually in Frankfurt. Around 3500 exhibitors from 90 countries representing national and regional tourist offices, major hotel groups, airlines, destination management companies, service providers and trade associations participate in the IMEX Frankfurt trade fair. The 17th IMEX is hosted in Hall 8 at the Frankfurt trade fair grounds from 21-23 May 2019. 36 Indian Exhibitors are participating in IMEX 2019 out of which 15 participate at a joint Indian stand coordinated by India Tourism, Frankfurt.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar visited the Ruhr University #Bochum(#RUB) in North-Rhine Westphalia and met with Prof. Dr. Axel Schölmerich, Rector of the University and Ms. Monika Sprung, Director International Office. They discussed about ways of furthering cooperation in the field of #research between RUB and Indian Universities. She was also shown around the Uni Campus, which is one of the biggest in Germany, ca.4.5 sq.km big, built in 1965. RUB was one of the first universities to introduce international Bachelor's and Master's degree replacing traditional German Diplom and Magister. It is known for its science courses and research work. It is also one of the biggest German universities, employing around 5702 staff(411 Professors) and around 42,954 students.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar met Dr. Engelbret J Gunster ,President Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Rheinhessen and Ms. Elvin Yilmaz, Head for International Affairs at the IHK Rheinhessen and discussed avenues for strengthening Indo-German Collaborations.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar visited the King's College Frankfurt, The British School in Frankfurt. She met with Ms. Kirsty Sharp, Headteacher and Ms. Stephanie Bernhardt, Head of Admissions. She also interacted with some students.

    Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar visited IHK Cologne and met Dr. Werner Görg, President IHK Cologne and Mr. Alexander Hoeckle Director International and Business Support Section and discussed the favorable investment scenario in India for German Investors. IHK Cologne has around 155,000 member companies from diverse sectors.

    A Reception for Indian students visiting under a student exchange programme between the Rotary Club Nidda and Rotary Club Bombay Mid-Town was held on 15.5.2019 at Schotten. Mr Manfred Knoll, who has successfully organised this student exchange programme for the 8th year welcomed participants at the event in which the visiting Indian students gave a presentation about India and Mumbai City. The Consulate was represented at this event by Consul Mr. T.G.Ramesh who gave a presentation on the positive impact of Digitalisation in the lives of Indian citizens who now have access to a wide range of services in India over digital platforms.
