    68th Republic Day of India Reception

    The 68th Republic Day of India was celebrated at the Consulate General of India Frankfurt on 26th January 2017

    World Hindi Celebration 10th January 2017

    The Consulate General of India celebrated the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017 in Frankfurt on 9th January 2017. The theme of the event was "Indian Diaspora - Roles and Responsibilities" based on the broader theme of ‘Redefining engagement with the Indian diaspora’. The event commenced with the screening of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s inaugural address which was delivered in Bengaluru on 8th January 2017. CG presented the welcome remarks for the event. Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, CEO,Steigenberger Hotels and Dr. Rajan Malviya, a prominent member of the Indian diaspora delivered keynote addresses on the occasion. Two panel discussions on ‘Political engagement through social responsibilities’ and ‘Role of the Indian diaspora in enhancing bilateral economic engagement.’ with prominent Indian diaspora politicians and business community rounded up the event. Around 100 prominent members of the Indian diaspora community attended the event.

    Consul General Raveesh Kumar and Mr. Puneet Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles jointly inaugurated the India Pavillion at the annual Heimtextil Fair organised in Frankfurt. Representatives of Texprocil and other Councils were also present.It is the biggest and most important international trade fair for home and contract textiles, and run in Frankfurt am Main from 10 to 13 January 2017. The first trade fair of the year for its sector, it is a climate and trend barometer for the whole business year. Over 350 exhibitors from India are participating in Heimtextil 2017.

    Christmas Bazaar was organised by the Indian Ladies Club e.V Frankfurt in cooperation with the Indian Consulate on 3rd December. The event was jointly inagurated by the Consul General, President of the Indian Ladies Club, Manager of Air India, representative from India Tourism and State Bank of India. The attraction of the event were Indian dance performances, work shops, fashion show, sale of Indian street food , Xmas food items, Indian handicrafts, Indian clothes and Groceries.

    As part of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar, the Constitution Day was celebrated for the first time on 26 November, 2015.

    The Government of India has now decided to celebrate November 26, as 'Constitution Day'. every year. CGI Frankfurt celebrated the Constitution day by reading out the Preamble of the Constitution and screeing of a documentary entitled 'Samvidhan: Making of the Constitution of India' produced by Rajya Sabha TV.

    As part of CGI Frankfurt's 'Make in India' outreach, Consul General Mr. Raveesh Kumar visited the Institut fur Textiltechnik Aachen, and German companies in Dortmund and its surrounding region.
