    Consulate General of India Frankfurt organised a Students Open House for Indian students on the 6th November 2015. As part of the event, representatives from Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, Studentenwerk Frankfurt am Main and Auslaenderbehoerde Frankfurt addressed the student gathering.Over 120 students from all over Germany participated and made the event a great success!

    The Consulate General of India Frankfurt organised a business seminar on "Smart Cities initiative: Vision of a modern India" in cooperation with Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development, IHK Frankfurt am Main, Wirtschaftsgipfel Deutschland and Montagsgesellschaft e.V. in Frankfurt on 19th October 2015. Speakers from the Indian and German government and private enterprises shared their insights and experiences also for the two panels "Smart Cities in India: - Smart Cities: Urban centres prospective growth engines" and "Smart Environment in India - How can German companies profit?" The CEO of SMA Solar Technology Mr. Pierre Pascale-Urbon delivered the keynote address. Over 80 participants attended this event from leading manufacturing companies in the region, consultants and officials from the local Chamber of Commerce and Economic Ministry.     On 13th October, a Round table chaired by Hon'ble Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal was organised by CGI Frankfurt, in association with OAV (German Asia-Pacific Business Association) and VDMA (German Engineering Federation) on the sidelines of the ANUGA Food Fair 2015. The round table was attended by representatives of different state governments and Indian business associations. On the German side, it was attended by many major German companies in the food processing sector like Metro, Bayer, CSB Group etc. Earlier, on 12th October, the Hon'ble Minister visited the ANUGA Fair and attended meetings with Mr. Jürgen Abraham, Honorary President of the Federation of German Food and Drinks Industries (BVE) and with Mr. Eckhard Heuser, CEO, Association of the German Dairy Industry (MIV). She also visited the India Pavilion and interacted with Indian exhibitors.     On 6th October, the Consulate General of India, in cooperation with IHK Kassel-Marburg, organised an event on "Doing business in India" at the IHK premises in Kassel. The opening remarks were made by the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee, Dr. Constantin Schmitt, who is also the Member of Board in Konvekta AG. Consul General Mr. Raveesh Kumar delivered the speech with a focus on "One Year of Make in India". A report was also presented by representatives from WIKUS GmbH on their operations in India from the transition - execution phase of their company's establishment in Pune.     Consulate General of India in cooperation with IHK Düsseldorf and Indo-German Chamber of Commerce organized a business seminar on Make in India: Potential for German business and Industry, on 1st October in Düsseldorf. In the pic: Speakers and panelists present at the Make in India event.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned home after a five-day visit in US. At the end of his visit he had a brief transit halt in Frankfurt where he was received by Ambassador of India in Germany, Mr. Vijay Gokhale, Consul General of India in Frankfurt, Mr. Raveesh Kumar and his spouse, Ms. Ranjana Raveesh, amongst others.

    Consulate General of India and Darmstadt Indian Association (DIA) organised a cultural event 'Pride of India-The Western Traveller', celebrating the great poet, Shri Rabindranath Tagore in Darmstadt on 21st Sep 2015. The performing artistes consisted of a five-member troupe from India led by Dr. Ananda Gupta, a renowned Tagore Scholar, researcher, singer and director. The Indian Classical Music Concert with Manipuri and Kathak Dances was based on the works of Tagore during his German trips in 1921, 1926 and 1930 and also in Czech Republic and Hungary. The members of Darmstadt Indian Association (DIA), consisting of mostly University students actively helped organising the event.
